Join us on Saturday, August 12th for a Speaker Event in the courtyard of the Bucks County Civil War Museum and Library. The presentation will start at 11:00AM. Historian, Kyle Purchase, will discuss the significance of photography in the American Civil War and how it has become a useful tool to study the conflict. Most of this presentation is also a small sample of the works of the several Civil War photographers (i.e. Matthew Brady, Alexander Gardner, Timothy O’Sullivan, etc.) who documented the Civil War through the lenses of their cameras. It is important to note that this presentation contains some photographs of a graphic nature and may not be suitable for younger children. This event is free of charge but donations are welcome.
